Life Without Redundancy

Without redundancy, we'd never hear the words,
"I love you"
more than once

People claim that they want change, but I don't think they want change at all. I think people - myself, included - simply want joy, happiness, and pleasure.

Think about it, the moment we achieve a goal, we play.  We get that extra bonus at work, we rush out and buy something that makes us happy.  We get time off from work, we rush outside to go shopping, go to a museum, go to a concert, whatever; the point is - we play.

It isn't change that we want... we want to change things in our lives that we believe are not allowing us to play.

So, how do we solve this???

We tell the truth.

Sentient beings are sentimental. More than being right, we want to be part of something.  More than being rich, we want to share those riches with others.  More than being successful, we want to play and have fun with our families and friends.  More than having adventures, we want to tell others about them.  More than making memories, we want to relive them. More than identifying with a particular group, we want identify ourselves in everything. More than being alone, we want togetherness.

If that isn't redundancy, I don't know what is...

The Hubble Telescope's wide-field planetary camera took this image in 2007 of the "last hurrah" of a star like our sun. The white dwarf is ending its life by casting off its outer layers of gas, which form a cocoon around the star's remaining core Blue corresponds to helium, blue-green to oxygen, and red to nitrogen and hydrogen. Ultraviolet light makes the material glow.
